Prime Minister Karki Holding Talks with Seven Parties on Election

Prime Minister Sushila Karki is holding discussions today with leaders of major political parties regarding preparations for the upcoming election.

The meeting has been called for 4 PM today at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, leaders from Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), and other parties have been invited to attend.

Following the GenZ Youth Movement on Bhadra 23 and 24, an interim government led by former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was formed on Bhadra 27. The government has announced that general elections will be held on Falgun 21.

At a time when the Prime Minister has been accused of taking a tough stance against old political parties and allegedly trying to disturb the election environment, she has decided to hold talks with party leaders.
