Prime Minister Karki’s Video Message: Urges Citizens to Stay Safe and Alert

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged all citizens to remain safe and cautious as the risk of floods, landslides, and inundation continues to rise across the country.

In a video message addressed to the nation, PM Karki assured that the government is fully prepared for rescue and relief operations and that citizens’ safety remains the government’s top priority.

“Please assess risks before engaging in any activity and always prioritize safety. Your safety is our foremost concern. Do not hesitate to seek assistance when needed,” the Prime Minister said in her message. “We understand your challenges and hardships. I want to make it clear—you are not alone. All state resources are with you.”

Highlighting that the situation remains serious, she said the threat of floods, landslides, and riverbank erosion is increasing and called on everyone to remain vigilant and encourage others to do the same.

PM Karki added that all government agencies are working with high morale and full preparedness despite the difficult conditions. “Rivers across the country have reached high alert levels due to continuous rainfall, which could lead to dangerous situations. Landslide risks are equally high in several areas,” she noted.

She assured that Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, health workers, administration, and other service bodies are on standby 24 hours a day to provide emergency support to citizens.

She also informed that major highways and critical infrastructures are being closely monitored to ensure safety and timely response.
